Visit the McCarthy stout Beer Garden at the Galway Days Celebration in Town Square park.
The festivities run from 11 am to 5 pm and are packed with a variety of activities celebrating Irish culture.
Saturday’s events will include performances by renowned Alaskan Irish artists such as Jubilee, The Northern Lights Celtic Dancers, Tania Opland, Laughing Molly, and De Pris. Attendees can also enjoy workshops, vendor booths, a children’s tent, buskers, storytellers, and a photography exhibit. A special highlight will be the Gaeltacht, a small village where visitors can experience the Irish language.
Additionally, don’t miss the concert featuring Sky Kelsey and Colm Broderick at the 49th State Brewing Heritage Theater at 7 pm. Sky, a former Anchorage resident and five-time Midwest Fleadh Champion, will be performing alongside Colm, an All-Ireland winning uilleann piper and the 2020 winner of the Seán Ó Ríada Bonn Óir competition. Tickets for the concert are $25 for the general public and $20 for Irish Club members, available at irishalaska.org or at the door.
Saturday’s festival activities are free to the public, though some workshops may have fees.
